How we help
Huis van Heerde (HvH), a programme of BADISA Western Cape, is a registered Child and Youth Care Centre (children’s home) which provides residential care to 70 children outside the children’s family environment in accordance with a residential care programme suited and developed for the children in the centre.
The CYCC is responsible for the care, support, protection and development of the children in its custody through various therapeutic and developmental programmes.
Orphaned, abused or neglected children as well as children in need of care and protection are referred to HvH. Most of the children are all from the Swartland area, but children from the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, as well as other areas are also admitted when necessary.
We are 100 years old!
This is a great achievement and we are thankful to accommodate 70 children in our care. In May 2020 we started our 100th birthday celebration with a Thanksgiving Service at the Dutch Reformed Church in Moorreesburg, High Tea, Black Tie Dinner & Auction in September and a Golf day and various projects for our children eg two Shoe Box Projects for our children.
