Who are we?
Huis van Heerde (HVH) Child and Youth Care Centre in Moorreesburg, a programme of BADISA Western Cape, is a registered child and youth care centre (children's home), which provides residential care to 70 children (between the ages of 1 and 18) outside the children’s family environment in accordance with a residential care programme suited and developed for the children in the centre.
HVH is a registered Children’s Home and a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO nr 93000648). In terms of Section 18A of the Income Tax Act nr. 58 of 1962, bona fide donations are tax-deductible in the hands of the donor.

Our Mission
Huis van Heerde is a Dutch Reformed Church / United Reformed Church institution with a Christian-Based world and life outlook on the caring and developing of 155 children in need. This is done through mentoring and couching of socially acceptable behavior based on religious, educational, physical, social and physchological process, executed by a multi-disciplinary team of experts. The children are equipped to skillfully manage the difficult tasks of life and to fulfil their duty as responsible and law-abiding citizens.

Time
Volunteers are the lifeblood of House Andrew Murray Children's Home! They are indispensable for the implementation in of all the Home's programmes in order to ensure the best possible care for the children.
Goods
Huis van Heerde appreciates any donations of goods, as well as second-hand items. We are always in need of: Toiletries; Stationary; School Needs; Clothing; Groceries; Luxuries; Going away hampers for school leavers...
Monetary
We only receive partial funding from the Department of Social Development and are therefore dependent upon the generosity of the general public for the continuation of our service delivery to vulnerable and orphaned children.
